Fibromyalgia

What you are experiencing is real.

This is important for you to hear. From sleepless nights and widespread pain to acute fatigue and psychological distress, there's a reasonable explanation for your pain. Some may have  told you it's "all in your head." And they're right - it's all in your head, but it's not made up.

WE CAN HELP

The fact that you are reading this proves that you know fibromyalgia is not your fate.

Scientific research shows us that, as a fibromyalgia sufferer, your pain is in your brain. That inability to remember why you walk into a room, where you parked your car, or difficulty in concentrating?  There is a reason and it starts with helping your brain receive the fuel it needs and proper activation so that your body can heal and function properly.

Whether you've seen other professionals or this is your first step toward healing, you've come to the right place. While we see people facing similar conditions and diagnosis, no one person can be cared for in the same way. So rather than let the diagnosis determine the care, we look at the person and care for them.

HOW WE CARE FOR YOU

Simply put, your brain may not be firing properly. We can fix that.

While the symptoms are different for each patient, the following services have helped provide relief from the pain and put our patients on a path to healing:

Neurological: Evaluating neurologically reveals that many fibromyalgia sufferers have an overactive nervous system and upper brain. In order to slow down an overactive nervous system and counter the cause of your pain, we use:

  • Exercise With Oxygen Therapy (EWOT) - Exercise With Oxygen Therapy, or EWOT, allows us to make adjustments to how the brain is firing in order to restore proper oxygen levels in the brain and body.
  • Adjustments - Based on our evaluation using Exercise With Oxygen Therapy, we are able to adjust your spine, which fires the less dominate side of the brain, bringing you back to a higher functioning level.
  • Brain Based Therapies (BBT) - Specific activities to up-regulate the function of your brain. -

Metabolical: Many fibromyalgia suffers - and possibly you - have significant food sensitivities and intolerances in addition to their over-active nervous system. We evaluate how your metabolism is functioning with:

  • Blood Panel Analysis - Blood sample testing allows us to evaluate the function of all your organs. In some cases these tests have revealed that the very supplements a patient was diligently taking to support their healthy were in fact the cause of their migraines.
  • Adrenal Stress Index -

GOING DEEPER

By now you see that fibromyalgia is simply a name put to a multitude of symptoms that do not affect each individual the same. Our goal is to find the cause of your symptoms and build up the system within the body that is functioning at a lower state.

Some more symptoms we see people having are the inability to sleep. Or if they can sleep, they still wake up fatigued, with headaches, having morning stiffness, problems with thinking and memory (fibro fog), skin temperature changes, decreased endurance, always feeling sick, and abdominal pain.  You can’t chase symptoms - you test to find out why you have those symptoms. While many patient’s have these symptoms each person's diagnosis presents itself differently.

Let’s look deep into the brain at how it functions for those diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Those with fibromyalgia have a high mesencephalic output - the upper part of the brain stem.  Some symptoms of an over-firing mesencephalon are light sensitivity, pain, fatigue, difficulty sleeping, and sweating.  Fibro patients also have an inability of sleeping at 3am and fatigue at 3pm which is due to the malfunctioning of the mesencephalic reticular activating system (RAS).  In addition the over-firing of the upper brain stem causes a excitatory response in the intermedial lateral (IML) cell nucleus of the spinal cord which leads to an increase in heart rate or arrhythmia.  The excitory response of the IML also tells the adrenal medulla of the adrenals to release stress hormones, specifically norepinephrine and catecholamines.  These two hormones are toxic to the brain, gut connection, and stimulate pain fibers.  The pain fibers known as nociceptive fibers are stimulated causing one to notice pain all over.  By improving the function of the brain neurologically and metabolically, we improve the feeling and function of the fibromyalgia patients. It’s not just the brain but the gut, the adrenals, and every cell, organ, and tissue of the body which the brain controls.

Next, we test metabolically to make sure the blood chemistry of the individual is optimal using functional biochemistry techniques. All internal functions can be affected by chronic conditions therefore you have to have your blood chemistry thoroughly evaluated. Additionally we look at intestinal permeability looking for active antigens, immune panels (autoimmunity), food sensitivities (e.g., gluten, dairy, soy, etc.), hormone panels, and inflammation. Most blood chemistry panels we see are quite inadequate in evaluating the entire person for their condition and general health.

By the end of your case we know exactly what’s going on with your brain and body and how well they are communicating together, answering the questions you have been living with, unanswered, for years thereby giving you a renewed life.
