Brain Based Therapies
BRAIN BASED THERAPY
What is Brain Based Therapy?
Brain Based Therapy is natural and powerful form of therapy used to restore people to a greater state of health.
Who can benefit from Brain Based Therapy?
BBT is designed specifically to help in re-wiring your brain to work as efficiently as possible. Therefore, people of all ages and conditions benefit greatly from this type of care. Once this power therapy has helped minimize or restored brain imbalances the body’s natural healing capabilities give us some amazing results.
People have shown improvements with many health conditions such as:
- Balance disorders
- Arm/shoulder pain
- Low back pain/sciatica
- Bulging/herniated discs
- Carpal tunnel syndrome
- Dizziness
- Dystonia
- Early Alzheimer’s symptoms
- Fibromyalgia
- RLS (Restless Leg Syndrome)
- Headaches
- Migraines
- Insomnia
- Hip/Knee/Feet pain
- Tremor disorders
- MS symptoms
- Neck pain
- Numbness
- Spinal stenosis
- Low immunity
How does Brain Based Therapy work?
Your brain’s health reflects the bio-chemical, emotional, and physical health of your well-being, controlling all functions of your body. Therefore, if you brain does not fire in its proper loop different issue arise. Typically, your cerebellum (back part of your brain) fires (sends signals) to the front part of the brain and then to the lower brainstem. This is what we consider the brain loop. When stress, either physical (eg, repetitive motions), bio-chemical (eg, medications, supplements, inflammation, anemia), and/or emotional (eg, co-workers, family), interrupts this loop the brain stops firing in a coordinated fashion. Therefore, there is not enough nerve input to the front part of the brain to inhibit the mesencephalon from over firing. What this means is that your body gets stuck the flight or fight response (sympathetic dominance). Stress is being stained into your neurological make up. Some of the symptoms of an over firing mesencephalon are fatigue, light sensitivity, migraines, insomnia, recurrent urinary tract infections, chronic pain, diarrhea and constipation, and irregular heartbeats. Many times the misfiring of the brain is the reason for fibromyalgia, sciatica, and ADD.
Another important part of the brain loop is the cerebellum. The cerebellum deals with your balance and coordination, spinal postural muscles, and terminal eye movements. If the cerebellum is not firing properly you may experience chronic back pain, dizziness, vertigo and balance disorders, disc bugles and herniations, sciatica, and peripheral neuropathy. The misfiring of the cerebellum causes the postural muscles to be in constant spasm more so one on side. The constant constriction of muscles on one side causes poor imbalances in the spine. The individual vertebrae will lose their normal range of motion, locking up and resulting in spinal and neurological denegation. For example, people experience degenerative disc disease, arthritis, disc herniations, and sciatica.
Once the dominant and weaker sides of the brain have been discovered through a specific and thorough BBT neurological examination, proper brain function can be restored. Since the right side of the brain controls the left side of the body and vice versa care is typically focused on one side of the body. A precise, gentle, and dynamic set of protocols is used to restore and rebalance brain function. Specific chiropractic adjustments, both manually and using an instrument, may be used in properly stimulating the brain and neurologically rebalancing the brain loop. Additionally, visual, auditory, olfactory, eye exercises, eye movements, and other therapies are used to restore the proper brain loop.
